The Unusual Dynamic of Mindless Banter
by

It`s unusual, this conscious and yet really subconscious action we call speech. It drives the very fabric of our existence as communal bipeds. A unique paradox is created where thought is manifested into a nerve induced motor impulse to move your jaw, lips, tongue and etc. in order to create sound. The sound created is a unique happening of pure volition and yet still interlaced by subconscious underpinnings that cry out to the listener, at times the speaker themselves and the spatial nothingness between the two or many involved in this whimsical act of humanity.
I`m already proving this theorem by typing the words. My already overused mandibular motor neurons are wanting to kick into action and initiate trouble by speaking some of what should be said yet probably more that shouldn’t. It so interesting and simultaneously repugnant. We speak and then find ourselves wanting to take back some of those words or perhaps wishing that we should have spoke more. Wishing that we could have said them in a different context or maybe even with more vigor. The moment may have called for more empathy or total verbal decimation toward the person or persons on the receiving end of the conflabulation.
Control over ones thoughts and manifesting those abstract constructs into actual audible vibrations, which can actually make logical sense…is the most upright, exemplary virtue and treasured outcome to the intelligent man. Lip service, purely semantic banter or cult of personality type, dictatorial rhetoric are not desirable actions or outcomes. We do not want a premeditated falsehood constructed between speaker and listener(s). Intentionally leading a conversation into the depths of intellectual hell is the thing of social devils, manipulative psychotics and those devoid of cognitive reasoning abilities. It would be more agreeable to have a “cheap” intelligence granted to us from an underserved obtainment or blessed from the omnipotent One, than comparatively use what knowledge we gather independently as a weapon against our fellow man in maliciousness and malcontent.
So, perplexingly, it brings us back to how we both fool ourselves and others by letting our mouths speak words of ignorance. We end up in a position of compromise where emotionally tinged conversations lead us down a road to ruin either through deceit, overt false positivism or diatribes of maelstrom. Ultimately, subconscious seems to prevail over the conscious and a resulting dung heap of auditory is spewed forth which is no more conducive to meaningful communication, than compassion is to the sociopathic murderer. We in turn then, have actually created absolutely noting at all save treason toward humanity and reason. Where is the honor or nobility in such illicit action?
The true purpose of speech for man is merely communication for communal and survival purposes. Like all living organisms on the planet, survival is an engrained primal based driver that subconsciously prods us to make instinctual decisions, that hopefully will provide us with something we require expediently or in a long term future plan. The truly unique quandary for man, is the emotional connotation he attaches to events in his life, which are deep rooted in the psyche and a “seed” that surplants him in his efforts to communicate effectively, his true intention. It is a near impossible feat to clearly convey your purpose through verbal discourse, if your words are chosen haphazardly or inappropriately for the individual or individuals you are speaking to at the moment you speak those words. You have now spoken them and like all moments in our lives, words leave a lasting sense impression upon our subconscious and conscious mind which will pervade our future interactions with people we have spoken with in our lives.
I can say there are without a doubt, many conversations that I would have preferred to have phrased differently than I did. In retrospect, it is impossible to go back and fix these events. Like a poorly skilled sculptor, man stumbles forward attaching verbal bandages to his body of work with “arms” that are merely stuck on and not properly carved away from the pure block of ashlar that we should draw forth from, our words from “true mind”. A machinist draws from his stock, a pure and untainted block of steel upon which he will construct a masterpiece of “Art” unique to his craft. A work in which he will attach his namesake and legacy to, which will pass down through time into the minds of man and Gods alike. Forever a testament to his spirit and manifest destiny.
Man is indeed born an animal. Yet man has within him a drive to push his physical and mental limits to reach new levels of achievement. This unique characteristic is what truly separates man from his mammalian counterparts. Literally, he longs from the very vibratory atoms in his structure to confabulate something of significance that will be worthy of recognition from his fellow man, the Gods and the very fabric of the Universe itself. This is the driver that pulls man to not just use his physical processes for mere survival, but fulfillment and enrichment of his life.
Life fulfillment is a paradoxical calamity for man. It is both his best and singular separating factor from his animal counterpart. He must survive like all lifeforms on his planet, yet still must express himself from his soul or spirit. This is the dilemma for man. Truly he cannot make strides in life without growth in spirit. His “true nature” derived from the Nothingness of the Universe, in all it’s beauty and glory, must be let loose to spread it’s wings to fly. Soaring to new heights. Nothing can remain static and this is man’s one common denominator. The one true static for man, is that all things change. He must be the bedrock and the sky…the mountain, yet the Sun in it’s apex. He must endeavor to be the beacon for which others are drawn toward. An iconic example for his constituents to strive to become. This being his goal and real purpose, he may only first be able to complete this task by speech’
Are idle or otherwise droll words the legacy you would leave behind in regard to your name? I would think not. Yet, it in one’s life, it is necessary to express and speak to other people on equal terms and in terminology they can understand. Intention is the cornerstone of sincerity and one must be able to relate to all people in speaking with them. Tell them what need be said, when it need be said and how it must be said, so that they might in their relative proportionate means reach some sort of satori in their life. It is the responsibility of all intelligent men to pass on to even the most undeserved man, a miniscule splinter of Enlightenment. For even though it may be on his death bed, low be the man that knows no Truth, even if it be at his end.
So, sometimes speaking randomly cannot be helped due to the plebian and inherent nature of man. We are not perfect for we are human. It is what makes man both lowly, yet is the necessary component which seeds the fertile ground of his soul for flight. To struggle is to grow, to fall is to rise and to fail is to learn. Every man must ascend to new heights in his respectful ability. Every man has talent individual to his own particular and unique attributes. Yet again, the dynamic of social speech between men, becomes that of waves. Highs and lows due to both intellect and emotionalism. That paradigm which rules and has governed man since his existence on the planet.
It is inevitable that he may not speak in purely intellectual contexts or the term human would not be applicable. It is fine to embrace one’s humanity, but to excessively indulge in overt emotionalism or in the polar opposite, be devoid of feeling; is not in any means the Way. Man should be like his divinely planned and intended geometric design-balanced. Like an instrument…the strings can not be too taut nor too lax. A man who has the correct outlook on this concept will be in correct posture with his surroundings and the Universe. Yet, if a deception is put into place…imbalance will occur. Man must be humble and remember to check himself in regard to his behavior. He must forever question himself and strive to speak with right words. Humility is a virtue that seems long forgot in our present society. The humble man seeks not fame, yet deserves it so…the arrogant seek out fame and deserve it not.
Long ago, I remember being told that there was a difference between knowledge and wisdom. Not a truer statement could ever be made. There is undoubtably a disparaging distance between information and the ability to know how to use it. A man can seem hugely intelligent by a verbal release of the flood gates of his conscience, yet what resolve and temperance does it display to be so forthcoming. What true intelligence does it allude to, to just speak words and not know which words or information to exclude? Empty are the words that fall on deaf ears of the mundane and otherwise undeserving. Like a master musician, you must leave out notes that are unneeded and fill the song with the empty space that is required. Spouting verbous verbage akin to the chromatic scale of the aforementioned is no more than the dumping of ones mental contents into the air itself. Content, intonation, pause and other prolific factors that require a discerning mind must be applied to one’s speech and written word. Look upon the works of Plato, Shakespeare or Hall…can one not deny the grand perfection of such work? These are the examples upon which we should strive to at least merely imitate. One can only hope to be marked within their ranks of both authorship and wisdom. Here are men which are the pinnacle of Truth and knowledge.
We must as reasonable and hopefully wise men, fix ourselves to this high standard and strive ever to maintain it. Never should we let it slip below and to soar above it, one could only imagine.Remember the paradox which both manifests itself by inaction and action-that unique dynamic between men which presents itself in our everyday lives and our interaction with our fellow man. Be careful what you say and how you present it, how you express it, but yet live and be not afraid to be a man with integrity and conviction. Speak only truth, even if it is expressed in allegory and veiled in deception, Truth cannot be debated. For after all, it is the Truth that will set you free.
